The Esperanto Club of Austin (EKA) has three purposes: to promote the learning and use of Esperanto in Austin, Texas, to welcome Esperanto speakers from around the world to Austin, and to have fun.

Moving servers again....

Within the next two weeks the server hosting this site should move. I hope this will not create any noticable inconvenience.

Springboard to Languages Evaluation

On July 2nd, Taylor gave me the "Springboard to Languages" packet he received (thanks to the generosity of Mr. Ron Glossop of St. Louis.) I evaluated this in the context of teaching a course oriented toward some of the children in our group. Here are my thoughts.

Great Website

http://www.esperanto-mv.pp.ru/ESP/index.html

Wow. This site has lots of goodies. Programs, music...There's even stuff there for the Emacs fans. I highly recommend checking it out.

Happy 4th!

Esperanto Web Magazine

http://www.internacia-gazeto.com/

This site gets points for having lots of content, but I'm deducting points for using the x-method on a website. And further, I'm deducting even more points for using the tre malbela h-method. "jh" is ulgy. "Ghis" makes me feel like I'm trying to choke whatever it is back down. At the very least I'd have to really concentrate to keep from saying (and thinking) "Geese." Anyway, that's personal preference. I'll never read anything from the site because I can't stand the h's. But that doesn't mean there's not good stuff there.

New Esperanto News Site

www.klaku.net

It's a digg-alike, but still neat. It would fill some of the void left by the demise of Ĝangalo, if it managed to become popular with esperantists.

July 1st meeting at Rob's house....

The July 1st meeting will be at my house, at 5:00pm. Personally, I hope we can finish reading through James's translation of "Master Labyrinth"---we may have to go a a little faster. As we did last time, I think we should also spend some time engaging the children.

SemiRandom Link

French Esperanto League

I can't say I've truly explored the site, but on the other hand there is a boutique. Go on, you know you want to buy French Esperanto books.
